CAMPBELL PACIFICO
Coach
From a young age, Campbell liked being active. She was in gymnastics for years and enjoyed the challenge of working through new skills. She dreamed of being a coach and liked helping her friends when she could. As she progressed, Campbell found herself anxious to go to practice and not feeling supported by her coaches. Campbell decided to quit and find something new to keep her active. She tried other sports, but nothing seemed to have the same appeal as gymnastics.

That summer, some of Campbell’s friends offered to take her to a summer camp at Dexterity Depot. Campbell had an amazing time at The Depot. She immediately fell in love with Ninja and the supportive community at the gym, which was very different from the community that she had just exited. She decided to go back for another week of summer camp with her friends, and once again had a great time. Campbell was hooked and couldn’t wait to go back to The Depot. The Dexterity Ninja Team Tryouts happened to be that same weekend, and Campbell decided to tryout for the team alongside her friends.
At tryouts, Campbell showed great potential and made the team. At first Campbell struggled. She had a hard time learning new obstacles and especially had a difficult time with obstacles that scared her. Although Campbell struggled with fear while training, unlike her previous experience, her coaches were there with her every step of the way. They provided support, encouragement, and positivity to help her through these initial struggles. Campbell continued moving forward every day. She even began doing private lessons and learned even more new ways to cope with her fears and anxiety. With the help of her coaches and with much perseverance, Campbell was able to push past her fears and develop into an amazing athlete.
Although Campbell had a difficult time when she first started with Ninja, the skills and knowledge she learned: the understanding of progressions, how to overcome fear, how to work through adversity, and more, gave her valuable skills that she would one day be able to apply as a coach. Campbell's coaching journey began when she was given a leadership role on our Ninja Team. She was assigned the role of captain, and truly did an amazing job. She would always encourage her teammates, teach them while waiting for her turn, and help them through their fears. It was clear to our coaching staff that Campbell would be a great addition. Campbell was offered a position at The Depot and adds much value to our staff and to her students.
Campbell is a very encouraging coach. Her knowledge of progressions and understanding of how to overcome fear is regularly used to help her students. Campbell is a great example of how our setbacks can teach us lessons that we then can share with others. We are grateful to have such a talented young lady on our staff!
